Sugar, Spice, and Everything Talia
Nine9’s very own Matthew Barrett and Stevenson Bennoit landed roles on Nickelodean’s Talia in the Kitchen and we couldn’t be more proud! The boys were eager to work hard and be apart of the chaos and excitement that is Talia in the Kitchen. It was an experience they won’t soon forget.
Mariela Romero & Catharina Ledeboer creators of Every Witch Way and WITS Academy, have done it again. Their latest gem Talia in the Kitchen is an adaptation of Nickelodean Latin American telenovela, Toni, la Chef. Following suit with their previous shows Talia in the Kitchen is full of magic, a dash of drama and a healthy helping of humor.
Now to give you a little taste of Talia in the Kitchen, over the hills and through the woods to grandmother’s house we go. Or in Talia’s case over the gorgeous turquoise ocean and through the palm trees. Forget summer camp, Talia travels to the vibrant city of Miami to stay with her grandma and work at the family restaurant. However to Talia’s surprise her family’s restaurant “Lola’s” has been shut down by the Fuccinelli’s. The two feuding families and ‘frenemies’ have been in a constant cuisine competition. Talia upset by the sudden news, breaks into her family’s old restaurant, Lola’s, and discovers her late father’s magical spices. Naturally havoc ensues and Talia is faced with obstacles in and out of the kitchen, but with the help of her magical spices, and new friends Talia is able to overcome anything deliciously.
The first season of Talia in the Kitchen concluded July 30th and youngsters far and wide are hungry for more. The very dramatic season finale leaves off with Talia losing the Golden Ladle cooking competition, Frenchie stealing the magic spices, Tyson trying to show Talia his romantic feelings for her and all of this is happening in the middle of a dangerous hurricane. Talia goes to fetch her sister’s pet skunk and ends up trapped in Lola’s at the peak of the storm. We’re left at a real nail biter, uncertain of Talia’s fate. Fear not, season 2’s premiere is right around the corner. Catch all the fun and see who’s stirring up the trouble next, on November 30th!
