The upcoming Bob Dylan biographical film, featuring Timothée Chalamet in the lead role, is casting Extras for a concert scene.
Titled “A Complete Unknown,” the movie is set to chronicle Dylan’s ascendancy in the 1960s, capturing his journey to becoming a folk legend. Alongside Chalamet, the film features Edward Norton portraying Pete Seeger and Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, highlighting key figures in Dylan’s early career.
The title “A Complete Unknown” is a nod to a lyric from Dylan’s 1965 hit “Like a Rolling Stone,” which encapsulates the essence of breaking free and embarking on an uncharted path. This song, famous for its powerful lyrics—”How does it feel, To be on your own, with no direction home. A complete unknown, like a rolling stone”—was first showcased at a music festival in 1965. This performance was also notable for Dylan’s pioneering use of an electric guitar, specifically a Fender Stratocaster, marking a significant moment in music history.
Recently, the production of the film commenced in New Jersey, and the casting team from GWCI is in search of numerous local residents interested in being extras in a major concert scene that is scheduled to be shot.
Requirements for participants include:
- Comfort with both indoor and outdoor filming conditions
- No allergies to wool
- Willingness to undergo hairstyle and facial hair changes to match the 1960s era
- Ability to work in environments where smoke is present
