Over 200 Atlanta Talent Contacted To Audition for “Hidden Figures”
The film, ‘Hidden Figures’ is the true story of a group of African American woman that worked in secret as NASA mathematicians and helped America launch mankind into space in the historic race against the Soviet Union. The film stars Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson and Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer.
Henson plays Johnson, a brilliant African-American mathematician who along with her colleagues Dorothy Vaughn and Mary Jackson, served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history; John Glenn’s historic launch into space. The three women crossed the societal lines of that era while embarking on the mission and influencing generations. John Glenn flew the Friendship 7 in 1962, which was the fist mission to successfully orbit the Earth and return home safely.
