Coachella Boasts Impressive Lineup for 2016
The Coachella Music Festival is an annual event that takes place in Indio, California at a 78 acre polo club. The event started in 1999 and has become an appealing spectacle for fans of all genres of music. People from all over the country make the trip to California to spend the weekend partying and dancing with some of their favorite bands. The festival features many popular artists that perform on different stages throughout the park from Friday to Sunday on two different weekends a year.
In 2015, the headliners for the festival were AC/DC, Jack White, Drake with Madonna, The Weeknd, and Tame Impala. These were only a few of the big names that performed, and every year an impressive new lineup is announced. General admission for the 2015 festival sold out in less than twenty minutes and over 198,000 tickets were sold. In total, Coachella grossed $84, 264, 264 in ticket sales. Coachella has become the most popular music festival in America and something that people will remember for their lifetime. Coachella truly has something for everyone. Visual art, interactive art, and other type of artistic pieces can be seen all around the festival for people to enjoy while listening to their favorite band.
This year, the lineup features several older and modern artists. Guns N’ Roses is reuniting with some of its original members, and they will be headlining on the main stage. Other big names like infamous rapper Ice Cube, pop singer Ellie Goulding, and the electronic-themed duo Disclosure will grace the stages.
