Casting Directors are seeking actors, models and other talent to be in scenes shooting this August 2020.
Producers are seeking to fill the following primary roles:
Adam— Male, age range 30s, NYU film school graduate; burst onto the scene via the Cannes Film Festival with his debut B&W feature Encantando con la Muerte. His next film, a superhero franchise pre-boot, was an expensive flop, making him radioactively unemployable. Forced to direct big Pharma drug commercials for money, Adam comes to the Guadalajara Film Festival with his producing partner, desperate to sell his new movie,
The Night Jaguar.
Adriana – Female, age range 30s, mixed-race. Adam’s producing partner ever since his film school days at NYU, leading her (unwittingly) to live in his shadow. They are an item – but everyone assumes she & Adam are married simply because they work together, which she resents. She forms an unexpected bond with Álvarez’ wife, Chen, who worries she has suffered the same fate with her husband. This bond eventually takes on a dangerous, intimate element.
Alvarez- Male, age range 45-55, Latinx/Hispanic, dapper, classically handsome but with tired eyes. He made his fortune in the Mexican resort real estate business, then turned to be a patron of the arts, in particular films. Álvarez retired a few years ago to the U.S. with his wife Chen , an actress, and their young daughter Isabella. He & Chen both became bored, however, and itched to be back in Mexico & back in their respective games. Álvarez accepts a job as Minister of Tourism for Mexico.
Chen- Female, age range 40s-50’s, Latinx/Hispanic, a majestic, a semi-retired actress. Fifteen years ago, the wildly famous Chen played the role of a lifetime in the movie version of famed telenovela Xicade Silva. The spotlight, too bright, drove her towards privacy & the joys of motherhood with her precocious daughter, Isabella. But like her husband, Chen became bored with suburban family life &itched for a return to the spotlight.
Rudy- Male, age range late 20’s- early 30’s, an acquisitions executive for a prestigious independent film distribution company. Pansexual, sex is part of doing business for Rudy & he’s good at business. Texas local hire only.
Creepy Man / Waiter – Male, late 20’s-early 30’s, an attractive, innocent-looking man. He works for an organized crime cartel & has been assigned to spy on Chen and Álvarez. This mission, unfortunately, costs him his life. Texas local hire only.
