Auditions Announced for the Film “Void”

The production is holding a remote casting call for several roles in the film “Void.” The group is accepting video auditions and will be reviewing. Read on for more film details and if you fit to submit!
Synopsis:
When the main character chooses to pursue dance over a more lucrative career, she must find her identity and convince her parents that dance is right for her.
Casting Call : The production agency is looking for actors to fill roles in the film “Void”. They will be accepting submissions until February 4th, 2021.
Auditions:
All auditions will be remote. Please submit a 1-minute monologue in video format, resumé, and headshot to newsurgeproductions@gmail.com

Shooting Starts: March 12th, 2021
Shooting Ends: March 14th, 2021
Roles:
-Ash, body double – Passionate about dance but unsure of herself. She struggles with mental health, and is prone to self-harm. She struggles with her identity as a first-generation Filipino-American. Intermediate-Expert dance experience required.
-Lola (grandmother) – She has worked hard to establish her family’s financial success in the States, so they didn’t have to sacrifice the way she did. In keeping with tradition, she lives with Ash and her parents.
-Father – Is the son of Grandmother. He is considered a wealthy businessman and expects Ash to follow in his footsteps. He is frequently judgmental and overbearing towards Ash.
-Mother – Similarly to the father, she has high expectations for Ash and her career choices. Although she is not as outspoken and cruel as her husband, she still lacks in defending Ash, and frequently takes the side of the father.
-Lillie – Ash’s best friend, pretty upbeat, strong and supportive. Fellow dancer. *Must have Intermediate-Expert dance experience
-Dance Instructor – Stern and confident. Knows how to control a classroom. *Some dance knowledge preferred
