New FX Show Focuses on O.J. Simpson
Premiering on February 2nd, 2016 is the newest FX series, American Crime Story. The first season, which is subtitled, “The People v. O.J. Simpson”, focuses on the murder trial of the former National Football League superstar. American Crime Story is an anthology and was created by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. It is produced by Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the popular FX series American Horror Story.
It has been over 20 years since O.J. Simpson went on trial for murder, and FX is giving viewers an extensive look at the complicated case with 10 episodes starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., Sarah Paulson and John Travolta. Early screeners and previews have only boosted the hype for the first season with critics raving about the production, intensity and tension that the show possesses.
The show is told from the perspective of the lawyers during the Simpson trial. It is meant to explore the chaos that went on behind the scenes of the trial and the controversy that followed. Even though most of the viewers will already know how the famous trial ended, the acting and perspective of this show are bound to keep interest.
FX is looking to maintain its reputation as a great source for television dramas after positive reviews for recent shows like Sons of Anarchy, The Americans, Justified, and American Horror Story.
