The seventh installment of “Scream,” after multiple delays, is beginning production and casting for Talent.
The latest film in the long-running horror series, which began back in 1996, is set for a Winter 2026 release. This will be the first film in the franchise that’s directed by Kevin Williamson, who wrote Scream (1996), Scream 2 (1997), and Scream 4 (2011).
Wes Craven re-invented and revitalized the slasher-horror genre with this modern horror classic, which manages to be funny, clever and scary. The scream movies were actually inspired by an actual serial killer known as the Gainesville Ripper.
The latest installment is shooting under the title “Scar Tissue.”
